Developer Program for AI / Radio Integration

Does your company build software that field crews depend on? Put it on the radio. We're opening our AI integration to outside developers, and we're looking for partners that want to provide the benefits of 2-way radios to their client solutions.

Why put your software or SAAS on a radio channel?

Because a large share of the people who use your product can't get to a screen. They're driving, climbing, wearing gloves, standing in a plant, or running a call. They carry a radio because it works with one hand and it works where phones don't.

Until now, reaching those people from your software meant a phone notification they wouldn't see or a call to whoever was sitting at the dispatch console. AI Integration makes the radio channel itself addressable - your application can speak on it, and the people on it can ask your application questions.

That's the opportunity we're opening up, and we're looking for forward-thinking partners to help build our ambition.

What you can build

Three options. Most partners start with the first and grow into the second.

Option 1

Speak to the field from your app

Your application sends text to our API and it comes out as spoken audio on a radio channel or a push-to-talk talkgroup. Alerts, status changes, assignments, escalations - anything your software already knows that somebody in the field needs to hear.

Option 2

Let radio users query your software

A crew member keys up and asks a question. The AI works out what they meant, calls your API, and reads the answer back over the channel. Your software becomes usable by someone with both hands full and no phone in reach.

Option 3

Reach mixed fleets at once

Radios and cellular push-to-talk on the same conversation. We already bridge those networks, so you integrate once and reach both instead of building twice.

For example, if a field user over the radio states,"Haloid, where is truck 12?"
The AI resolves what was asked and calls your system
Your APIGET /vehicles/12{ "yard": "Riverhead", "updated": "2m ago" }
The AI turns the response into one sentence worth saying out loud
Back on the channel"Truck 12 is at the Riverhead yard as of two minutes ago."
// Pattern 1: your application speaks on a channel
POST /announce
{
  "talkgroup": "ops-1",
  "text": "Bay 4 is clear. Truck 12 proceed."
}

Illustrative only. We're finalizing the interface with our first partners, and early access includes the current specification.

Who we're looking for

If your customers include anyone who carries a radio, you're on this list.

  • Dispatch and CAD platforms - let field users check and update status by voice
  • Fleet, GPS, and telematics - locate support or monitor technician status
  • Work order, ticket systems, and maintenance - open, look up, and close jobs from the field
  • Alerting and mass notification - send critical notifications to radio users
  • Inventory, asset, and scheduling - lookups over the air instead of a phone call
  • Campus and school safety - reach staff who don't carry phones on shift or don't have cellular
  • Push-to-talk platform providers - extend the AI layer to your subscribers
  • Point-of-sale and retail operations - improve retail efficiency
  • Systems integrators - building for public safety, industrial, and municipal clients

What we provide

  • Expert radio integration and unique AI interface
  • A dedicated engineer on our side, not a ticket queue
  • Shared scoping to support a real customer use case
  • Hardware, cables, and radios for development and testing
  • Software and hardware engineering to customize our hardware to fit your app
  • Co-marketing and PR opportunities
  • A track record to build against: Haloid has supported tens of thousands of LMR and radio users worldwide. We have the expertise, knowledge, and IP to make your integration successful.

Common questions

Do we need to know anything about 2-way radios?

No, and most of our partners don't. You bring the software and the customer relationship. We handle radios, gateways, cables, licensing, and the RF side of the problem. That division of labor is how these projects stay on schedule.

What does it cost to integrate?

Nothing to have the conversation, and nothing for simple access. There's no charge to send to Haloid today and we intend to hold that line here. If an integration needs real engineering hours on our side, or hardware, we scope it like any other custom development engagement and put it in writing first.

Who owns what we build together?

Your product stays yours and ours stays ours. Anything genuinely joint gets settled in a partner agreement, if needed, before work starts.

Do you need access to our source code?

No. We integrate against your API the same way any other client would. Have a sandbox or test tenant? That speeds things up considerably.

Which AI provider does this run on?

Our public demonstration used OpenAI's Realtime API. The integration layer is ours and it isn't built around a single vendor, so you shouldn't be locked in by our architecture. We won't promise a zero-effort swap, because voice models differ in real ways.

Our customers own radios from several different manufacturers. Is that a problem?

No. We work across analog, P25, and DMR on conventional and trunked systems. Mixed fleets are the normal case in this industry.

We're a software company outside the United States. Can we still partner?

Yes. Your customers don't have to be in the US either, and plenty of the fleets we'd reach through you won't be. However, we cannot support clients that are a national security risk to the United States. An export review is part of setting up a partnership.

How do we start?

Send us the use case. Tell us what your product does, who your customers are, and what a person would say over a radio to get something useful out of it. That's enough to get started.
