Q I am interested in a pair of these radios. I am an amateur radio operator involved in emergency communications, one of the items that I need to demonstrate is sending data over DMR. I have a number of DMR radios. We have many DMR repeaters in the amateur radio service indeed the largest DMR network in the world with 7559 repeaters on the air, all linked. I know the radios can be used to do data, I just want to make sure that what I get will do so and that i do not need to purchase anything else. I figure right now what I need is two radios, I believe they charge via usb so I can forego the chargers unless there is a reason I need them Not sure what else I may need. I will get the programming software from Motorola Any guidance in the matter is much appreciated

A Unfortunately, the radios will NOT work for this application. They are amateur radios, they are commercial radios.We suggest you look for amateur radios as they are ideal for what you are looking to do.
